Thanks! It was really nice, it is a limited run type kit though. I publish build video in next two days, so more material and feelings in that.

My hope is we get a 1/48 release for the RF-8 and early version F-8s (A/B/C etc.) in the future. Seeing this released by Sword gave me a little hope for that.

I would like to see those too, but I wouldn't mind new tooled 1/48 E Crusader either...

Same! Should be easy enough if whoever makes it just follows through on what it seemed Hasegawa intended to do, since they put a mold break just before the gear bay to accommodate future changes to the forward fuselage. Somebody seriously needs to make that happen.

Crusader seems to be under rated aircraft for some reason.

Great build video! Might give this one a try sometime.
And indeed it is, it's my favorite plane but maybe it just doesn't look as cool as F-14s or F-35s so Mr. Tamiya won't bless us with one.

Thanks! If Crusader is your favourite aircraft you must get this. It is one of my favourite aircraft too. I think Crusader looks much better than F-35. But Crusader was used in too few countries or something therefore it is not so popular. There is no hope that Tamiya would do one..

I'll be sure to get it then, TV 🙂 I like how you had an RF-101 to compare it to, that's another big favorite. I have two RVHP conversion kits so I can build both RF-8 variants in1/48.
Since the wing can't be raised OOB on the Sword release, I was reluctant to buy it, but maybe I can build it in flight or raise the wing like I did on my current Crusader project.

I only have 1/48 vacuform RF-8 conversion and decals for A variant. Let's see if I dare to start it sometime..
I think the RF-101 is the best looking Voodoo. The Valom was a lot of work and much more limited run kit issues than in this Crusader.
Not all the Crusaders have to be wings raised. In flight plane is good option. I started to build the A-variant with raised wing..

Yeah I do love the Voodoo, I have a vac and a resin conversion for the RF-101C.
And you're right, I just think since the variable incidence wing is so unique to the Crusader, it adds a lot of visual interest to a model. Looking forward to seeing how your wing-raising adventure goes with the A!
