These pictures of the cockpit start this build: given that in this Hasegawa edition of the Mosquito the cockpit is literally kept empty, I think the somewhat, well, somewhat improvised state of the interior is an improvement

The inside of that cockpit looks great.

The elegant shape of the Mosquito is now taking shape. A little more filling, then the cockpit canopy is fitted. The fit is perfect, so to speak, but the masking will take some time.

It's already taking shape 👌

That makes me pleased, feel welcome of course- indeed, one of the most beautiful aeroplane designs!

Interesting project (as usual)! I didn't know that a BOAC Mosquito had been made as a kit. Danish nuclear physicist Niels Bohr was flown from Sweden to the UK in the bomb bay (!) of one during WW2, it apparently (and somewhat understandably) scared the living daylights out of him…

Well, I didn't know this nice story. But it's really exciting, it's exactly these kinds of experiences and the accompanying circumstances - flying in a converted bomb bay - that fascinate me about such original aeroplanes. I appreciate your comments on the model selection, thank you very much!

For my part, the fact that you chose to go for a BOAC Mossie is exactly what makes this project interesting! 👍

Thank you for your encouragement and motivation! By the way, I'm looking forward to soon being able to lay the keel of the Whitley used by BOAC on the same route and under the same circumstances. Airfix offers a very respectable realisation with their Whitley kit. I am including a few new pictures of the Mossie with the topside prepared for the "Dark Sea Grey".

Things are slowly coming to an end here - well, I hope a happy one! I've made a few additions to the undercarriage, mainly to the hydraulics, but also to the linkages (that were decidedly missing) to carry the undercarriage fairing when retracting. I can't wait to see how the clear parts look under the masking!

I have overlooked this project so far, but I will be watching with pleasure 🙂

The civilian Mossie is now complete; Hasegawa's marvellous, albeit aged, kit has made it easy for the modeller to achieve a good approximation of a Mosquito - and even in unusual civilian BOAC markings. I have really enjoyed the project - and the examination of the original was insightful, I am very impressed by this BOAC flight service to Scandinavia and will soon build the second tangible aircraft that has been used for this purpose: Airfix fortunately offers a BOAC version of the Withley.
The Hasegawa kit provides a solid and beautiful base for this shapely aircraft; I only added the seat belts, some etched parts for the radio equipment and installed a metal instrument panel. So, thank you for your motivating comments, your likes and your interest!

Once again a job well done and very nice photos! What's more, an incredibly fast construction process. And also aircraft not often seen in BOAC marking. Hats off Roland! 👏👏👏
