First 2 colours of the camo done. Dark Earth went down first, then I masked with Humbrol Maskol and sprayed Forest Green. The masking took an awful long time. Tamiya's instructions were a bit vague, but I was able to download a good picture of the correct camo scheme.

Still a bit of Maskol in the foot wells. No point taking it out as these will remain brown.

All finished and looking good. The kit goes together very easily. All parts are well moulded and required minimal clean-up. Painting the US Sand Brown (the pale part of the camo) was the hardest part. Using liquid mask was tricky as it kept scooting off into every groove or along the edges of raised details. My freehand airbrushing attempt was dismal and needed a lot of touching up of the green and brown. The black parts were brushed and were a lot easier.

One of the tiny tow attachments on the bumper was the only part that broke during the build. They are tiny and fiddly. The headlights were painted with Tamiya LP-11 Silver and coated with Deluxe Materials Looks Like Glass. Tamiya LP-11 Silver and Tamiya X-26 Clear Orange on the indicator lenses.

Painting the uniform was actually easier and more enjoyable than painting the vehicle. I sprayed the whole figure with Humbrol Dark Earth, then hand painted the Woodland camo pattern using Humbrol dark green (Matt 30), Humbrol German Overall Sand and SMS Infinite Colour Auscam Black. The goggles are just black primer with satin clear, then the lenses coated with Deluxe Materials Looks Like Glass.

Thanks Dietmar. I was thinking it might have been easier to do the sand brown first, then use masking fluid to do the green and brown, but it's hard to say whether that would have been easier. I could probably do the sand brown freehand with my airbrush now that I have figured out how to do it a bit better. The paint needed a bit more thinners and some retarder as well, but I still struggle to get a thin enough line. It's a hard pattern to do, especially with it going around corners. I like how it came out in the end, but it was an ordeal.
