Trumpeter 1/48 F-106B project

Album image #1
Mounting it about 5mm back from the edge so I can blend the duct in with lots of putty... ?

Album image #2
That's a lot of internals going in ?‍? that need to fit snugly. Note the AB-ring added to the exhaust pipe (from the spares box, and actually part of a J79)

Album image #3
FDM printing isn't very suitable for this: lines are to rough... but it is more than usable enough in this case

Album image #4
Shining a torch through the other side so you can see the turbine in the back 🙂

Album image #5
Double control sticks still missing, cause the seats need to go in first ??

Album image #6
Added some wiring coming out of the back of the instruments

Album image #7
Painting...

Album image #8
Hard to photograph (or even see at all... for all that work...?) but the shape of the intake ducting has turned out very nice

Album image #9
Almost there

Album image #10
Not happy with tan outline on the main canopy though.... but that's going into the touch-up-later to-do list 😉

Album image #11
The finished bird 🙂

Album image #12
Particularly pleased with the intake duct (and fan), cause my brain just can't handle intakes that end in a backplate after 2cm... ;-p

Album image #13
Also added afterburner ring system to the otherwise pretty bland detail inside.

Album info

Designed and printed an intake trunk and turbine face, cause my brain can't handle intakes that end in backplates.
