Peterbilt Stake Truck
Comments
Album info
This build is based on a memory from when I was 14 and visited the old Peterbilt Motors Co factory in Newark, California. In the background was this little low-cab-forward COE stake truck. I had forgotten about the truck until I saw a glimpse of it in the background of a photo and knew I had to build it. The truck would be a model 300 and owned by Peterbilt Motors Co for pickup and delivery duties around the San Fransisco Bay area in the 70s.
The model is 1/25th scale. The cab is scratchbuilt. The stake rails and racks are made from Evergreen plastic. Resin wheels from a seller whose name I can't recall. The chassis and suspension is harvester from an AMT Kenworth Mixer kit.
This build is the second Peterbilt factory owned stake truck I've built, the other a model 352 cabover was built 20 years ago and appears here too.
The model is curbside in that the cab does not tilt.
Thanks for looking!
