Thanks for the resin photos. The cockpit is nicer than the kit, for sure, but maybe not up to Aires standard? May I assume that the nose is wrong in the kit, or is this a nose for a different version? I'm afraid I don't know my MiGs very well. And what was all the Mr. Surfacer covering? Small pinholes in the plastic? I haven't seen that in my copy of the kit. Who makes the vacuform canopy?

You welcome, the cockpit is not so good like the Aires, its very far from their standards quality, but is the best (and only i think) available. The nose is wrong but the resin one is to make another version, one with the camo scheme 🙂 the putty that you see was used to cover several dozens of pinholes that are all over the kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!(it was the major reason for the delay of building...) the vacuform canopy comes with the resin parts.

Wow, that's crazy. I've just had another look at my kit, in case I've overlooked something, but there are no pinholes. Plenty of rivets, though! 🙂

Hi Vitor, there is still a lot of work on you Mig 25, a lot of sanding, did the kit have that much of sinkmarks? or is the kit not correctly, I now that ICM have beautifull kits, I have made the Spitfire MK IX from ICM and it was a beautiful one accept the decals there whore not that good, greetz Phil

Hello friends

Bill, well i have two of them and they are both full of little holes... and im not talking about the rivets 🙂

Guido, thank you but for now this is a project that is waiting to be restarted, Stefan and Michael... im afraid that is going to take a will until it goes to the workbench 🙁

Philip the aspect is like... there was some dirtiness on the molds... because there are so many irregularities! The kit is not bad but its not a shake and bake, it needs a lot of work to result in a good model. I have Begemot to build an camo version with the cameras on the nose, but even the resin nose is not correct (another reason for the delay of the building).

Stefan well i think i have to infected kits than 🙂

I think they modeled the MiG from one of the wrecks that I saw in Iraq, lots of bullet and shrapnel holes. Just like when Hasegawa did an F4 Phantom but used a repair hulk as their example, with all the patches included!!

@Dave: If this would be the case than Vitor can be lucky that ICM did not take one of the burried MiG's as an example. Otherwise the box should include a bag of sand 🙂

Nicest looking Mig-25 in my opinion, I´m seriously tempted to build this one as well so thank you for the pictures !

LOLOLOLOL - a box of sand!!! Perfect.
Although, this ICM kit looks a LOT better than the old Hasegawa kit. I need one!!

In case you're wondering what happened to the Iraqi MiG-25 that was buried in the sand, methinks I found it. It's in the Restoration Facility of the National Air and Space Museum in Silver Hill, MD. I hope they keep it in the Iraqi markings.

Just had a look at my kit......no holes or defects. Maybe a problem
with a production lot?

Hey Mates, how do you insert those images into the comment field ?

Doesn't work for me but I'm sure I'm the one to blame 🙁 ...

Just add an URL to an image. Works for me.

Wilfried Bogaerts
ah ok, so first I have to upload the image to an image hoster...

Now it dawns to me...my answer was a bit short. I can host images on my own website, so I didn't recognize that part of your problem 🙂

No problem, I created a photo album on Scalemates, I can insert that link 🙂
