Blimey, that's a lot of debate! The owner is a very interesting patient of mine who flew Seafires in Korea so will take more pics today and let you know if I find anything else.

Seems like an interesting guy... @Christian Meyerhoff: you could be right on both. Naval guns from old/cancelled and/or captured ships were often used in coastal defense positions.

Well I went to see the patient today (he's feeling much better) and discovered it was from a land battery in Korea that was seized and then dumped when back in this country so he put on the back of a flat bed and bought home! More pics for those with an interest

Thanx for sharing some more photos. Scale 1/35 diorama builders must jump because of them! Comparing your photos to the ones made by Mr. Yakubov the gun is really close to be a 12 pdr Mark V. May you will go back in a couple of days to look for him and by the way make a photo of the manufacturers plate on the left of the pivot. Maybe we can read it although it is still weathered.
By the way, an interesting history about your patient! Do you have had a chat with him about his service in Korea. I?m just curious because he must have flown with 800 Naval Air Squadron aboard HMS Triumph equipped with Seafire Mk. 47. One of the most powerful Spitfire / Seafire ever. I build an Airfix model in scale 1/48 of one of Triumph?s Seafires.

Yeah that's him, right at the end of the Seafire's life span, he then worked in 'inteligence' before becoming a civil pilot. I said I would pop in towards the end of the week to check up on him so will see if I can get a pic then.
