@Kim, for the uniform I'm using Humbrol 96 RAF blue as an alternative to Tamiyas xf50, field blue.

@Anthony, just what I needed to hear 🙂 the (iron?) cross on it's chest was a nightmare!

Having recently tried a couple of pilot figures, I can only imagine. Easy cure for me, close the canopy! Any suggestions for keeping your hands steady while doing your uniform details? I'm completely serious.

When doing the smallest details I noticed eventually my hands or fingers clench together in search of stabilty. What also helps me is holding my breath 'at touchdown' just like steadying a sniper rifle in all those games: it gives a short moment of focus and creates a tiny window to achieve your goal. It usually works. Also, if you keep your brush between thumb and indexfinger, you have three fingers left to steady the whole hand on the bench. A bit like when playing pool! If you want to know more just ask.

I could use those methods. Particularly the three fingered pool cue hold. For me when doing figure details it takes so long to aim that I just can't keep relaxed long enough. Thanks for the tips.
