Revell 4190 Sopwith F-1 Camel

The story to tell sounds very much like my return to modelling in 2014 (after 37 years). I hope you are enjoying as much as I am.
Yeah, I enjoy it very much. I am pleased to hear that your re-entry in this hobby was also joyfully and this after a long time. But sometimes it is a bit frustrating to accept my current skill level. I can see so many perfect and awesome models here, I try to build also a clean model but by every model, something goes wrong. For example I spend a lot of time for a perfect cockpit, try to get a clean airbrush painting and then the weathering goes wrong. But I think everyone has already experienced it. Anyway as long I can see a progress with each finished model there is a motivation to go on and on 🙂
Album info
This was my first Model after nearly 25 years. I wanted to try, if it makes still fun to build a scale model or if these are only some paleness memories of early teenage times. I used very old enamel colors, some are from my Father and more than 35 years old. But also newer Revell Aqua Colors (OK, I don't mix it). This was in late summer or fall 2013. After "finished" this Model, I ask google about Scale modelling and was flooded with information about new techniques and tools which I did not know. Since these days, I still continue to learn more about Scale modeling and build many Models which have always been improved. With every new model I have been new techniques used. Since then there have always been some setbacks but also progress. The main thing is, it makes a lot of fun and it is a good hobby to have a balance between my job at the computer and creative crafts.
