And great work Augie! 99 times out of 100 I can peg brush painting at a glance. Yours on the other hand is that 1 in a 100.

The filters are Brass Mesh to and a pain to fit. The other mesh is pretty prolific over the backend, will put more pics up once its all on.

Don, The italeri set wouldnt work due to scale (Matchbox is 72nd) but I know there is some mesh you can get that might work.

As for the painting guys, You make me blush with such compliments.

Excellent looking Chinook Augie, your work amazes me. The ramp wasn,t a very fancy item. Just a flat plate with 3 wedge shaped smaller ramps that flipped out so you could drive vechicles aboard. The bottom of the ramp was curved with 3 wooden skids on the bottom, and the upper ramp door retracted into the hollow ramp. It could be made to retract, stay retracted(which is how we usually flew, only extending the dorr when the aircraft was parked and tied down, or it was extremely frigid.) The ramp sides had large hydraulic acturators to raise and lower the ramp, and then a mass of hydraulic tubing and valves on the sidewalls inside the aft cargo area, on either side of the ramp. But of course you probally know all this already.

You are welcome. It is hard to see inside from outside. If you know what I mean. That upper door in your picture, retracts into the inside of the ramp when it is down. It does not stay up.

A company called Cobra Company, makes an excellent resin ramp detail kit in 1/35 scale, which is what I am waiting to get before I build my 1/35 scale Chinook, plus have to get the correct rear landing gear. My kit came with the early model twin wheeled aft gear, and I want to model the first Chinook I crewed CH-47A 66-15124.

Ah good. Had an incident with a clear part - the front cap of a warp engine - it dissappeared between sessions. A couple of years later I get it out of the box again - and find it on the end of the warp engine where I had test fitted the bloody thing. Duh!

The bomb sight on my Canberra, did the same thing this morning. I had it in a pair of tweezers trying to glue it to the cockpit floor. All I heard was ping, ping, ping as it departed the tweezers and bounced around the work bench. Never did find the darn thing. I did find the PE antennas for my Mig-21 I lost 4 days ago. So had to scratch build a makeshift bomb sight.

I have got into the habit (annoying for me at times), but, putting EVERYTHING into small clear zip lock plastic bags saves a LOT of agro and heart break.
And so far, I have got zero for zero losses on any parts now, as I learned to use also the adhesive tipped sticks or 'blue tac' to hold parts as I position them in stupidly awkward places, especially HUD's. :-/
Just a thought. 🙂

I lost a whole roll of Tamiya tape today, was masking off the crew entry door of the Canberra, and went to put the tape back on top of my spray booth, that is where I keep all my tape, anyway it rolled off the back and went between the window and wall. It took me an hour to find it. It somehow wound up inside the cabinet part of my work bench, in a tub that I keep my oil paints in. I just can't seem to hold on to things anymore. I have used Kerry's method, especially when installing small windows.

For what is it used Clifford.?
If your meaning something that is like ultra thin/fine fishing line.?
If so, then I use a thing called 'invisible thread', as it comes in clear, like fishing line or black, mostly used in the garment industry for stitching seams.
It has a little bit of 'stretchability', but needs a steady hand and a good eye to use it for bi-plane rigging or aerials.

About the rigging, you should give it a try with EZ Line. Using the EZ line need just a little practice.

The lenght will not be any problem, because you have to give the line a bit tension. Just so much that the line will be tight. You can try it easliy, gluing two pieces of a sprue frame in the required distance, and do some practice rigging.

There are also a lot of toutorials on Youtube, how to rigg, ship models, aeroplanes etc.

I have tried fine fishing line, and it works but seems to take very long time to set, but I now realize I have been using the wrong super glue. I need to get super glue meant for modeling like I used to use on My R/C models, and for rigging my model ships. Instead of the Gorilla Glue I have been using. It works but cures very slowly.

Clifford, oddly the reference I have which I used as a guide was for the first two to make it to the RAF and the OCU, neither have the coloured bands😉

She still has a fair bit of work to do so will see if you guys like her as much once thats done.
