Thanks Clint. No it was all scratch, most led strip lights, I used fiber optics for flashing lights not visible in pics, 6 large leds, 2 at neck base and 2 on each nacelle base. Then small leds for other places. bought power source off E-bay, as well as other lights..

Timothy,
I think your build is a little bit bigger - and yes my ship has a nice place on the bookshelf
You can have a view about this build here

Great job, Tim! Love the light show! Your racing stuff in the background...plastic or diecast? Kinda hard to tell from here. Looks like a great collection.

Wow, there has never been an enterprise kit that someone did with LEDs like this one! No words can explain it... none.

yes Clifford that is the 350! This was a tough scratch lighting project! Learning to light block out areas was tough road. In total darkness I saw a few spots that failed. Anthony there are a few on the internet that out do mine. they painted the Aztec pattern on ! But thanks for the complement!

I thank you again and appreciate all the nice comments. I am glad that so many were able to see the beauty in what I was trying to do. After all, we all are plastic artists!

Wow! Very impressive. I always wanted to do a Star Trek kit, but my tank stash rivals the size of some model shops...

You need a button on it such that when one presses it a voice comes over the speaker and says ...
"It's life Jim but not as we know"
etc. 😄

No I did not use a kit , I did the electrical my self, it was cheaper but didn't have all the bells and whistles. apparently the planet base could've been better. thanks for looking. I hope seeing the other models helped inspire your build. I still have to get around to posting a few more.

Timothy. Thanks for the tip to look here at your build. I am pleased you suggested a look. I am really impressed with your work mate. Stunning is just the beginning of how I think it looks. I am wondering about all the electronics installed. Was it part of the kit or a seperate purchase, and could you please post some links to all that you have on where to get and what to do please mate. ? 👍
Cheers. 🙂

O.K. I have looked through my video files only to find I lost them when my computer died 6 months ago. The scale I built was the 350 scale which is a meter long and not the 537. the 350 scale is around but getting low. The videos that inspired me are from this guy on youtube 1:350 Enterprise Refit Video Build Series Pt 1 - The Saucer. I do have the ebay venders I used for electrical parts. I'm not sure if they still make the light kits/sound kits, which are quite pricey but in a few of the videos this guy will tell you where, a lot of watching time! If you wish to light up something let me know and I will gladly walk you through it no matter what it is. or if you want to add a audio clip like I've done on 3 kits so far, those only cost about $5 usd. Spanjaard I will add some pics in the next day or so for you and others. When lighting up a model you have to Black out areas to contain the light, or make boxes. Depending on the amount of lights/leds used will determine if you need a 9v battery or a small power pack or if you preffer to do it with a power pack. Feel free to tag me with questions.

I have a vendor that sells blinking- constantly on or flickering LED sets, which I haven't used yet and this guy is great to deal with! I dying to try the flickering one on either a 1/32 jet or 1/48. Or who knows what.

Solid lights in the cockpit and headlight, flashing lights for the wings +, flickering lights for the exhaust! I think that could work!

Timothy. That is some impressive stuff there mate. :-O
That has now got me thinking of incorporating both LED's and fiber optic strands. !
I have previously 'wired' a 1/32 F-15 years ago that had individual lights on the side panels and instrument panels using 1 (one) grain of wheat light globe as the light source for all the FOC strands.
Most time consuming, but well before the LED's became the way to go.
Now, for something completely different. 🙂

FYI, if you take a fiber optic and put it near an open flame you can mushroom the end/enlarge the tip to pick up or display more light. As I stated the fiber optic guy I use has flickering, flashing and std on units, I used 3 flashers on the enterprise and 1 std on. Uses are unlimited.

Album info
This kit says skill level 2, but in my opinion it is at least a 3. The decals are poor, including the Aztec decals were cut a 1/2 inch too short! Overall the build wasn't too bad. where the nacelles mount and the nacelle seams as well as other areas needed putty. The large window areas needed to be modified for a more real look. This kit looks so much better with lights like it was made for it.
