Welcome, have a beer. This week will be slow though... Taking a CAD/CAM course and the weekend is full. Weather would be perfect for some time at the bench 😄

Yep. Funny thing was the missing tow cable, I'll scratch that. Instead there was the PE fret from Takom's AMX 13 105 in the box 😄
Made some progress, less than I wanted though. 2 left hands make things going slow😉 Sanded down the ridges on the wheels, rebuilt the frame for the headlights from copper wire and cleaned up the hull.

To the batcave! Errrm bench.
Replaced some moulded-on wiring tonight (and added more) and tried the fit of the headlight, referencing a t-54 (nice stuff, the search function for walkarounds 😛 ). Assembly looks to be the same with both tanks, but I couldn't find such detailed photos from a type 59.

Working on one right now, converting it to a T-54A(M). Nice kit, not as simplistic as Tamiya's T-55, but not as complex as Miniart's series.

Yep, Takom did a nice job there imho. Only the fuel lines were a bit fiddly to get to sit right. Otherwise it's a nice oob kit with plenty of room to get some detailwork done.

You are building it as Type 59, no?
In that case: DO NOT clip the front plate corners as indicated in the instructions! Type 59 has a square plate. Only clip If you are building an T-54!

Which version did have the square lower front plate? Latter ones?

In these photographs they look like they're depicted in the manual. I took it as proof to cut and sand...
Would be annoying to have to fit some sheet again 😄

WOOPS! I am so sorry, it is the Type 69 that has the square plate 🙂

Many thanks mates!
No I didn't take more pics sadly. And now it's adorning the living room of a mate 300km away. I'll snap some when I visit him the next time 🙂
