How my wife pictures it and how it actually is may actually be close to the same thing. I convince myself otherwise...

Unsure if white metal in metal tracks contain lead or not. I might up using rubber gloves.

White metall is a generic name for low melting alloys which may contain lead and also cadmium - Wearing gloves may not be the worst decision but more important to not lick/eat them and to wash your hands after contact 🙂

@German I think they are just laughing at an adult for enjoying a 'childs' hobby... a lot of people don't realize that it's actually a pretty complicated hobby. 😄

And too expensive for children nowadays.
Imagine trying to buy a kit with a few dollars.
It's difficult enough for me as it is only earning $450 a week.

The first kit I ever did, I bought with starter supplies. 1 CHEAP kit, a 12 paint + brushes kit, and a hobby kit (knife, files, cutters etc) and it was still $50. I agree, It'd be impossible for kids. Hell, I've maxed out the credit card I use just for hobbies. 😛

It's pretty much the same in most hobbies, I remember buying baseball cards for about 4-5 bucks a box with only 3 brands to choose from. Now ! Holy cow hundred different brands and a million different variants and expensive as hell ! I know some of the old school guy's on here remember buying a kit for 99 cents or 5.00$ for the expensive kit ! LOL!
