Very detailed parts! Lots of pictures of the parts for you Bob. And I find it interesting that the decals and PE are from Aoshima. Anybody know the history between the 2 companies?

After a few days, I'm back at it! Not a lot of pieces, but nicely detailed... The pieces have been snipped and sanded.

I'll bet money it's a Toyota car over in Asia. Just change the badges and charge the Americans twice as much LOL. Looks like a nice kit.

Funny thing too is that my Tamiya Lexus LS 400 has those same PE parts for the wheels and hood ornament too.

It was common to least kits in other markets, In the states we all knew AMT, they been around since the 30's but no one knew who the hell Aoshima was back then, so it was re-boxed under license and sold on the U.S. Markets. Look at the "Revell Premium" line, they are mostly Tamiya kits in a Revell box.

I hate colored plastic... Primed black pieces they are in the cup in the rear... To get to the white color I did a coat of grey followed by the white.

The Tamiya kit is all molded in a Mother of Pearl White plastic, and like your Eclipse it came with 2 Hoods one White other Clear, odd for a sedan.

What scheme you going with ? If I build mine, I was thinking Black with Gold trim and a light tan leather interior.

The top half of the body will be White, bottom half will be Sky Grey. There is a chrome stripe that joins the two halfs. Interior will be Leather Brown and Stone Wall Grey.

That's what I'm going to do, except the dark tan will be Stone Wall Grey.

I think I will go more tan than leather brown... I think it'll look better with the stone wall grey.

The tan part of the tan/stone wall grey interior is done. Next is spaying black while these dry, then back to these and masking for the grey.

I'm giddy as hell!! 😄 😄 A perfect mask job, no bleed through!! I went slow and didn't let the wet paint accumulate, not easy for me to slow down enough to concentrate... +1 for me 😄 Tomorrow will be a grey day... Literally 😛 Cheers mates!

The grey (paint) day was supposed to be yesterday... But I ended up making a paint rack for my hobby paints. So 'tis grey today 😄

Secondary interior color done!!!
I live in a small but tall room. I made a loft/bunk for my queen bed and made my office space below it. I was tired of digging in a rubbermaid for a single paint. I made this paint rack on the bed rails. I really like it!

I love the bunk setup, like you said, there's so much room. It's cool that I have two separate areas in the same footprint. And enough room for my DXRacer chair (tall chair) plus a couple inches. Plenty of headroom in the office area.

1) The body will be white and sky grey, what panel line color should I be using? Black seems like it might be too bold on a white body.
2) Aaaaaand will a wash made from acrylic Vallejo paint work in the same way as the Tamiya panel line? Or do you know a trick to make it work similarly? (I know the Tamiya is an enamel). Thanks guys for your answers!

The two body colors are done. Next is a chrome stripe to meet the two halves, along with chrome trim on the windows, and the grill frame in the front.

Sorry mate, can't help you with an acrylic wash over acrylic paint. I can't imagine it will work. You'll need acrylic thinner to remove excess wash and might kill the paint job

That's the conclusion that I came to as well. If I had the appropriate enamel, which color would best fit with white?
Also can you recommend a good panel line set? I know Tamiya has a 3 or 4 color set.. any others?

I've got a couple of these: migjimenez.com/en/41-aircraft-panel-line-wash
I don't know how they stack up to other brands.
For white I'd use a light/medium grey, black is too stark a contrast

I've been thinking of BMF, but am apprehensive about it. I actually use delicate surface Frog Tape for the wide tape, and only have Tamiya in 6mm and their 2mm curvy vinyl tape.

All that masking paid off 😄 Only a couple touch-ups needed when I pulled the tape off. What color should I paint the grill? Usually it's black, but would that look weird/off with the lighter colors?

I went ahead with chroming it. I'm also pausing this project for a week(ish). The panel lines are really well defined, so I want to wash them with a light grey... Straight to my favorite webshop for Tamiya Panel Accent Line wash in the other Panel Line colors that I don't have (3 Greys and Brown) and some other supplies I need. Waiting on shipping, then back on track. In the meanwhile I'll start on my little spud of a fire engine. 🙂

Looks like the washes and paints I ordered'll be here on Wednesday the 19th. Tentatively (depending on the fire engines progress), panel lining and clear coating on Thursday, then building after.

Start with the lightest. If you dont like it, it will be easy to cover with the darker color.

These lines aren't that crisp, but I hope to get better as I go along... I need to keep in mind line depth in the beginning of the project and rescribe if needed. and not to flood them with paint and clear making them useless for lining... That's going to be hard because I'm pretty trigger heavy with airbrush 🙁

Only do the opening panels (door/hood/etc). So not around the door handles. That would be too much.

Ya know what I do? Mechanical Pencil, Lightly draw in the lines before clear coat, you can rub off anything out side the panel lines with your finger, when acceptable, clear coat seals in the graphite.

Frustrated with the cab of the Fire Extinguisher-To-Go... Started putting the Lexus together, Here's the interior glued up. There was a little bit of a suspension system. This is a small kit, but enjoyable as the same. Next, just some clear pieces for tail and headlights, and throwing the deck, interior and cabin together.
