Thank you Maciej and Clifford, glad that you like my choice 🙂
After inspecting all pictures of the 33 I decided to go with the walkways on top
I was a democratic decision😄 1 to 15 for walkways

I was going through my decals today, and I have a set for that particular aircraft. Did not even know it. LOL. There are other aircraft on that sheet as well.

Good to know I have been of use at times. LOL. hahahaha 😉
Once the parts have been removed from the tree, just 'shave' the remainder from the parts to be used to prevent any shattering if you try to take too much off at a time.

@ Holger - there are seams on every part in this kit 🤔 - clear parts as well - but that will only need some extra work
@Harry - this build will show a plane from 2009 - therefore I will not change the helmet - my reference also shows a normal helmet

Thank you Konrad,Hans, Harry, Slavo and Ptrick for your motivating words
Today I had to order a new tube of putty
Both air intakes are now glued to the fuselage - the inner intake tubes are primed from the inside
Left side will need some putty to fit the right side is ok - don't ask why - it's all Kinetic😉

I agree Bart on the dry fitting and sanding for Kinetic models. I had to do this multiple times for the wings on my Cheetah build. Though I'd say many of the newer kits suffer from "over-complication". Sometimes this is due to them trying to do many variants, but other times for no good reason at all.

Hang in there you will get it. The only Kinetic kits I have built is their 1/32 Hawk and 1/48 A-6E. The only one I had issues with was the A-6. I have their 1/48 F-5B, will see how it is. LOL.

What primer were you using anyway? I remember a discussion here about the issues with different primers, acrylic and lacquer based. I stick to (Mr. Surfacer) lacquer based primers exclusively and, knock on wood, never had any issues.

Throw your stones, but I like the vallejo crap, only had peeling problems once when I didnt clean the fat fingers. Otherwise it does what I need it to, unifies, makes scratches visible and is a nice surface for airbrushing all other paint brands, also protective with aggressive spray cans, easy to clean...only minus for me is a longer time to dry thoroughly...

Thank you mates for your comments 🙂
I think it was a aged primer that caused the problem - the new bottle has a thinner liquide and gives a nice result
We have discussion about different primers every month in our modeling team
But I don't want to change so solvents 🤔

Count me as NOT a fan of the acrylic primers. They absolutely do not bite into the plastic and peel at the the drop of a hat.

Acrylic primers aren't primers...I totally agree with Donald, if you have tried the lacquer based primers, for example those from Alclad you never want others! After spraying you can sand the lacquer based primer so smoothly for the next layer...no problem at all with peeling of!

Thank you mates for your motivating words, very much appreciated
Today the following happened on my work bench
Involved were a bottle of extra thin cement, a modeling knive, a rescribing tool, the windscreen of the kit and the instrument panel cover
First the cement bottle dropped and left a sea of liquid on my bench 😄
The first reaction was which part in the sea must be rescued first
I got for the windscreeen and took it out of the sea
Second I rescued the instrument panel cover from the sea
Then I tried to get the rescribing tool with it's plastic handle out of the sea - but the cement already loved the handle 😄
Then I got the knife and secured it
All in all a normal day in modelers life 😄 May as anyone of us had experienced too
So I decided to stop for today and give the thing a new try tomorrow 😄

It seems so at the moment that I had a little luck Donald 🙂 but I did not remove the masking yet
Sanding from the inside is needed hope to get the fog away 🤔

I had a similar experience with ak's still water. Stuff was in a lot of places, including my hair. Luckily it missed my just matt varnished tractor.
Daniel, get the needle out of the plastic. Use a plier to hold the tip in a candle and the stuck glue will burn out of it. Be careful thought, the needle will be HOT.

Had that with an Tamiya 1/16 rc truck, was working on cables and almost finished...had to place a clear plastic part inside cabin with glue, dropped it on the inside of the window and had a big ugly smudge on it 🙁 had to search few weeks for a new window and luckily found 1 😛

As Nathan already mentioned before😉 I love this stuff from Monty 👍
Tomorrow will be fitting the rescued windscreen to the mainframe ... that will be some more sanding😉

The instructions are a nightmare and the fit is very average compared to the other builds I've done
The kit has the tendency to move towards the garbage bin - you always discover some more challenges the further you go 😄
But I don't own the Hasegawa kit - I think I have to get on in the future 🤔

Sorry to say but I don't think Hans is mentioning that speck of dust. There's an indentation on both sides below the windshield and it might be the connection between the clear part and the forward fuselage. Right Hans?

Hope to get the first of 5 camouflage colours done over the weekend
But we're to start - white belly - grey sides - sand camo - dark earth camo - green camo
So many options 😄

Hans. The issue of preventing paint coming away with the masking, I have found that Mr Surfacer is the one product that will prevent that from happening, as it has the surface quality that all paints just want to hold on too.

No Hans I use a transparent self adhesive foil 🙂
I apply the foil to the surface and mark the camouflage areas with a pen - remove the foil again, cut the required areas an stick the foil again to the surface
It's time consuming but gives a good result 🙂

So it needs to dry till it can be masked

It's a transparent film that is not too sticky
It's a role 30x300 cm - so it lasts for a long time 🙂

I always dread the hour when masking tape hits the painted model - or better put the moment when it is about to depart again... The fact that all your paint is on the plane in such a tricky pattern testifies that you indeed are a man who can chose his own foil!😉 👍 I really like this project!

Thank you Roland,Slavo, Patrick, Donald, Nathan, James, Thomas and Jos for your motivating comments during that stormy journey.
My conclusion for this kit
Check the instructions, some parts are not in there or have wrong numbers
Check your reference pictures
Check every colour in combination with the decals (which are very good)
Dryfit as much as you can
Buy some putty and sanding paper
A god thing is ... you don't need nose weight
