You'll find that a lot of the accessory parts will fit other trucks in scale without much modification. For instance i've been able to fit an italieri scania wrecker back on a revell peterbilt base with virtually no modification. Those revell K100s are sweet kits, as is the alaska hauler

But seriously, check out Tamiya's Extra Thin Cement. This kind of glue makes less mess, and is supposed to be applied on the OUTSIDE of the seams, not inside as with regular messy old tube glue. The excess liquid glue will mostly evaporate, but don't get any spill on clear parts. This liquid glue may also run around your thumb leaving a fingerprint, if you add liquid glue anywhere near your thumb while holding the model with your thumb.
Tamiya also has a lemon scented version of the Extra Thin Cement.

Nice work area, oh for the days when I had a space to put a shelf for my stash. We'll get that table loaded up with paint bottles before you know it. If you're shopping for paint, I recommend Vallejo Model air & Game Air for all Matt colours, even for brushing. the Game air has some nice bright colours, ideal for a matt base and a clear varnish over decals.

Yup. If you value your brain cells, get rid of the enamels, but preferably get some forced ventilation in there (suctioning is the best).
The revell glue is good for bit bits. For finer parts we recommend Tamiya extra thin cement.
And you might want to get a good sprue cutter. It cuts the parts better from the sprue, less distortion and less cleaning work with files and sandpaper.

If you can scan the instruction into the computer, there are sites that do jpg > text ( translate.yandex.com/ocr ). Saved my bacon alot. Also some translate photo apps can do live translations while you look at the page through the camera.

That yandex site does multiple languages, and the Google Translate is a live translator on phone screen, butg pics can be used too... The result are kind of wonky, but they make enough sense to get the job done.

Got a kit ERTL International F-4270 for € 20,- (photo 13 on the right) and got some free extra parts, decals with it. Had the kit International Transtar F-2671, but the decalsheet and manual that I got as free extra was lookin better. not sure what to do with the extra cabines. think will put them on a flatbed trailer as cargo 🙂

I see why it's so pricey, the extra axles must be a resin conversion, plus the photo etch. Single axle kit retails at £45, I feel lucky the Revell heavy haulers are just an extra forward axle of the pair and an extra mid shaft, quite simple to do a conversion with standard kit parts, either a donor kit, or make a second resin set.

Thx but already found the kit page Chaz 🙂 I wonder what the CNC milled parts are, would that be the rims? And not sure when I will build this 1 and in what version...the white FTG truck or the yellow with grey lines show truck..Alot of collectors will shoot me if I mess this masterpiece up with a bad paintjob 😛 To scared to start with some of my rare trucks that are expensive or hard to find now 😄

You've done a pretty good job so far. I see your dilema, I prefer to steer away from the white as it's a fairly common colour for trucks, but on the other hand, it has the cooler graphics. Perhaps flex those research skills you have, I reckon the graphics would look good over other colours too.

I like the simplicity and elegance of the yellow and black show truck. Although the FTG decals look much more like beast mode, heavy duty.

It's a very nice 1 I agree, but it is no more for sale and finding these KFS trailers for sale is not easy...the Nooteboom trailer I found on FB costs € 400,- lol that's 100 more then the truck 😄 So maybe a trailer from my current stash (like the heavy gravel trailer?) or will see what I can find over time 🙂

The difference between scales is 1/8 of an inch in scale per 8 Feet full size, ie the width of the 1/25 trailer would be under by about 1/8 inch, and the length of a 40' trailer would be short by 5/8 inch, or about 16mm. On the height, no-one would ever notice.
The variance between manufacturers is more like to be noticable than that between the two scales. I have a 1/24 58 Chevy pickup truck in Die cast, and a 1/25 57 Chevy truck in plastic. The cabs for those two years of truck are identical, the changes were front end treatments. But the two scale cabs are noticably different at about 1/4 inch in the width, more than twice the scale variance, and the height is quite a bit off too. A shame as I was planning to cast a 58 Front end for the 57 truck kit.
