Decals are on. Still missing the prop and exhaust stack.

I used the early camouflage scheme of mauve and dark green over light blue. These are AK Interactive WWI colors which went on very nicely.

Base coat on the prop. I'll try to mask and paint replicating the lamination then follow up with some oil paints for wood grain. It all looks so easy on the internet.

I masked and painted the prop with dark brown then gave it a coat of future. When the gloss coat was dry I used a wash of dark brown oils and then brushed it off to simulate the wood grain. I'll have to finish up with another coat of gloss

Finished up today. Next project I'll try some turnbuckles on the control cables and possibly aftermarket MGs.

I added the prop, windscreen and exhaust stack to finish it out.

I did some weathering with chalks and then locked it in with flat coat. It doesn't show up that well after the flat.

Oh, another builder of those rigged birds 👍 Nicely done! I catched this kit some weeks ago on a exhibition.

Thanks Alec. I always used Scalemates for info on kits and finally decided to put some pics out there. bughunter the Blue Max kit is not easy, but it has been a good learning experience for wood grain decals, alignment jigs, rigging and painting a laminated prop. I look forward to seeing what you do with the kit you picked up.
