Interesting. Any trick to making sure the barrel sticks straight out without a tilt to either side? I have a similar project going on. 🙂 Haven't drilled out and glued on the metal barrels yet.
I wonder if maybe one can drill out a four-hole guide template, a piece of styrene, that can act as a guide for all four barrels. The four holes would then have to match the very locations of the plastic holes.

Hi Treehugger, I just drill slowly and the barrels I purchased have a good amount of material going into the original plastic gun, so they stay in place I didn't need glue. Once the armour piece is glue into place the barrels lined up perfectly. 😮)
