Erik, the kit has designation problems. The pilots' corps are very big like "gorillas". They are sitting difficulty on chairs. The nose pilot will be inside the fuselage under the cover ( I 'll fix it open). The leader pilot sits on the correct height as the applicαtion of chair in cockpit. But I am not pleased generally with the quality of kit.

It has bad application between the interior and exterior parts. It has double parts of turret parts and staircase( I dont know why?). The instructions manual has ambiguities. I named "a Magufana" kit (Magufana (Magufa Anna a lonely idiosyncratic eldest daughter) =something heavy with not quality, kitch, coarsely chopped and with many difficulties). I had in past the Airfix IL-28. It was the same coarsely chopped. It seems that a curse designation follows timeless this model kit

An other "Chinese tragedy" is the application of the engines appartments (interior and exterior). BUT it has strong wheels system. Very STRONG

Erik I decided to colour it with the camo of Nigerian air force, because except the Romanian( but I dont trust the white colour want many colour layers) all the others schemes are commonplace. The problem is that I have not Nigerian roundels.

Go on, Νικόλαε, and I'm sure the Nigerian roundels issue can be solved, sooner or later. For instance, the Nigerian insignia decal sheet by MAV Nigerian Air Force Markings (MAV Decals MAV-NAV721, 1:72) seems to be available at their site: mavdecals.co.za/product-category/nigeria/ - or you can always ask for custom decals, e.g. from LM Decals SCM Brand: LM Decals - although, for both solutions, one may first wait for the end of the coronavirus lockdown... In any case, keep it up - I find it interesting that you chose to go for a Nigerian Air Force example.

Don΄t worry, it looks green alright! The roundels will be more difficult, but you will get to it, sooner or later. Again congratulations on choosing an interesting subject.

Thanks Alex. Although at first I hesitated because for the brush this camo seemed difficult, but I considered it a challenge and dared. In the end, the result was satisfactory. Cheers

Yes it is a solution but every time when I used the tapes the result was not good. I must try my self in that method. I have a Saab Viggen in 1/48 and I look the technique for the green, brown, light green etc, camo and I try to find a solution to avoid the BIG masking . I 'll see when the time will come. All begins from the idea, after all coming easy when you find solutions.

In the other side in Greece the modelling is very limited so the modelling materials are few. You must spend money to buy from internet . Do not forget that the crisis in Greece limited us only to basic economic priorities. It is a reason to use old methods to have a fun with my youth hobby.

I think modelling supplies will be hard to find everywhere now, so we will all have to use the old methods!

Niko, what size should they be?
I also found out Hi-Decal Line set for Il-28 includes them.

Hello Lukasz. I calculate 1.5 cm(diameter) for wing roundels and 1 cm for the fuselage near tail.

Thumbs up, Lukasz, for pointing out the Hi-Decal Line 72043 set, I had completely missed that when I first commented on the Nigerian roundels... As Nikos suggests, it is perhaps not the right time for mail orders, but it's good to know such a decal set exists and is available. In any case, my respects to Nikolaos for his work on the camouflage...

Yes Ben I scratched two (one upper and one low wing) with tape. I couldnt make the smallest for fuselage (rear) because my diabetic cutter doesn't have as much less radius as I need. The numbers made from spares decals The antenna wire is elastic thread. I putted a small parer to say to me "be carefull"

Not bad, pity you couldn't get the proper decals, it would make a better impression IMHO. Camo looks great as for the brushpainted one (is that correct?)
Is that kit really as bas as they say? I have to start mine one day...

Yes Lukasz is paintbrush. But the scratchtape roundels which it wears can be moved when I 'll find the originals
