Album image #6
flare dispensers need to be recessed

Album image #7
first mark the size with a scalpel, next put the blade with the straight edge to the outside and deepen the borders. That way you create a kind off barrier when you scrape/cut away the inside.

Album image #8
ready for dryfit

Album image #9
and glued

Album image #10
Not a big fan of prepainted cockpits, but in this case it saves a lot of work....

Album image #11
Cockpit fitted and openings in the wings filled with putty. droptanks are dryfit. These consist of 3 parts, and the tailpart has some serious sinkmarks...

Album image #12
PE wheelbays assembled and main hull parts assembled

Album image #13
this join is a hard one to clean up, so scraping, adding CA, scraping sanding.... to achieve a presentable result...

Album image #14
satisfied

Album image #15
plugs in place, 20mm guns removed, sanded smooth and tested with paint...

Album image #16

Album image #17

Album image #30
Album image #31
So I cut the original part in pieces, drilled a small hole (0.5mm in a 0.6mm plastic part...) not that deep, but...

Album image #32
bended it according to the drawing

Album image #33
glued all parts into place and bummer... to long, bend isn't good etc... why a wrong template then???

Album image #34
and adapted

Album image #35
Reworked the refueling probe... could be done better. Had to heat the brass, it couldn't be bent in such sharp corner without breaking... The material get's softer, hence I loose my rigidity... the wifey will be pleased ... 😉

Album image #36
it is small: 84mm

Album image #37
canopy added... was a dread... seat sat a little to heigh, so had to file a bit off... then this breaks off, that breaks off, then this again...

Album image #38
al closed up... to rework the scribing or not... detail is pretty soft

thx Lukasz.

Next up was the refueling probe. That was a plastic part, mainly 0.5mm diameter, that needed to be bent... recipe for disaster I thought, so I've replaced it with some brass rod (more solid then copper wire)
The template from Eduard isn't up to scale, and shows the wrong bend so I had to change in the end...

Redid the refueling probe... it extended too far, and still wasn't right... then closed the canopy before painting... did some dryfitting before, but the seat was a tad to heigh, so had to remove it, some unwanted thing were also removed in the process, so from an easy job to a full afternoon... finally it was closed up... now, deepen the panellines or not...

Something went wrong with my AB and it spilled a lot of Paint on the model. Now I'm busy restoring the damage done before going on with the paintjob.
