Started this nice little kit cause it is about time to build a 109 again! Mainly OOB, except for some decals. Not yet decided what the exact machine it will be.

Thanks Nathan and welcome mate! With a bit of elbow grease I managed to snug in all the resin cockpit parts. Looks rather busy

I was thinking about building a 109. Haven't done one for a while now, and you are certainly wetting my appetite with this build! 👍 Nice start!

Very promising start & really sharply detailed cockpit! 👍
And probably a very smart decision not to start nine one-oh-nines😉

Thanks Clifford, Björn and Slavo! It's always nice to build a 109 mates, nice small kits and a myriad of decal choices! The Classic Airframes kit is not as easy as a Hasegawa 109 but I must say this one is very buildable!
Haha yes Slavo that would a bit too much!

Some extra "pressure" is required when dry-fitting the parts. Also the resin nose is not an exact fit but maybe I made a fault when sawing it off the casting block.

Taking shape Erik. I'm sure you'll overcome the fit issues and bring us another awesome build.

Hope so Nathan, it's nice to really build something. Needed a brake from those perfect fitting 104s 😄!

Like Jos Jansen' 109 this one is part of our small 109 groupbuild on our Whattsapp modelling group chat 🙂. This kit comes together nicely, it's a bit of work test fitting but when taking some time it's juts like a Hasegawa 109. No locating pins anywhere so added a steel pin to reinforce the stabs.

Watching very closely Erik...as always mate, outstanding work so far! Your pit is also a joy to watch and in the right RLM color...🙂 😉

The Jumoschmitt received a coat of grey Alclad primer to check for imperfections, and there are a lot!😄. Well, still having fun though!

Used MRP paint for the first time, I must say it works lovely, very thin and levels out great. RLM65 for the underside and fuselage sides

I've been wanting to try out the MRP paint. Looks like you've made it work quite well.

Basic paint job done. Not entirely sure about the MRP colours but a small post-shade and Matt coat will do it justice I hope 🙂

Dry fitted the prop, which fits nicely. Although this is a limited run kit from the early 2000s I'm quite impressed with the fit all around. Will give it a gloss cost today and then it's decal time!

Oh whauw! Only by flipping through the pictures of the full build, I can appreciate all the hard work that went into this one. The final result looks so smooth and clean, but only after seeing how you had to graft in all those resin pieces and clamp up the drying parts that I understand your hard work. Exquisite build Erik! 👍

Thanks for the kind words Patrick! Yes this isn't "a walk in the park" so to say. I knew when starting it this kit isn't the easiest but it gives so much fun when building it! And a bit of skill is required so this is a good test for me since I still have a couple of Classic Airframes kits in the stash🙂. And I know Modelsvit and Dorawings and AMG also have early Bf-109s but they have double the parts of this kit and I think the Classic Airframes is more accurate too!

Beautifully painted and weathered Erik, looks like just the flaps left to install?
