The office is now complete. All OOB at this point except for a few Barracuda placards. Used MRP, Tamiya and Mission models paints mostly. The kit instrument panel has amazing detail. Fun project so far. Thanks for looking.

Really good start, always a pleasure to see your magic applied to plastic.
Cheers.

just outstanding, and inspirational. An icon of British aviation engineering captured beautifully.

Just finished the Merlin engines. The left one will be displayed and the right one buttoned up. Here are some photos of the left engine. I used Tamiya and MRP paints, a Flory wash and Testers flat lacquer clear coat. It's OOB except for the ignition wiring.

Inspiring us all, no doubt....This has to be some of the best OOB paint and weathering out there...fun to look at and wanting more!

The wings, fuel tanks and landing gear are now complete. No issues. I'm wondering where I'm going to put this big beast...

The main painting and many of the markings are now complete. The main paints were all MRP. Maketar masks were used for the roundels and fin flash. There are a few spots that need touch up, including a few on the fin flash where the paint lifted when I removed the mask. Since there are so few panel lines due to the wooden construction, I painted the metal surfaces a little lighter than the wood to create some contrast. I also did some extra fading and shading work with brushes, sponges and airbrush, followed by the base color to blend the effects. I'm happy with the result so far but boy is this thing big! Thanks for looking.

Excellent big scale work! 👍
While the whole thing is one big tour de force, I especially like the subtle post-shading and de-contrast treatment, particularly on the markings on the wings next to the cockpit - these really look in-scale and perfectly blended with the rest. Top job!

I hardly feel justified in commenting o this build........ it's been a technical illustration of how to build an outstanding model.
I.take my hat off to you Jim, plus all the other Mates who take the time to share their amazing building skills with mere mortals 👍
THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks Mates for all the warm and positive comments! It's very much appreciated. This has been by far the largest aircraft project I've undertaken. There's an amazing amount of detail OOB and it was enjoyable building each subsection. My hats off to those with the skill and patience to add all the additional plumbing, wiring and small scratch parts that bring the detail up a notch. I was concerned that I'd start to rush it toward the end but focused on one step at a time to avoid mistakes or sloppiness. In the end I'm really happy with the way this turned out and recommend the kit to those looking for a big project. Unfortunately it's too big for my display cabinet so the negotiations have started with my wife as to where it's home will be. 🙂 Thanks for following along.
