I am still not sure which kit I will use for this project, the Hobbyboss or a Kinetic Gold version ... the Hobbyboss has a fairly coarse molding. Just look at how they put the rivets on, they run across the inspection hatches ... very rough!

I'm definitely watching this one. The only A model kit I owned was Hasegawa, but I traded it for my D. Looks like the HB riveter went nuts 🙂 I'm sure you'll whip it into shape!

Yeah, great subject! Hard choice really, both have their pros+cons...HB requires extra surface-treatment while kinetic has lovely surface structures but is known to be quite uncooperative during assembly...
the hasegawa really is a good idea, depicting an early hornet and with decent rivets+panels.
And Btw: the HB kit is "heavily inspired" by hasegawa, if you catch my meaning😉

Read a comment once about the HB Hornet: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery 😄

all the am stuff I had on my wishlist and was too greedy to get (mainly as Roland said 😉 )
This will bring some fantastic detail 👍
One big minus are the intakes, which end where the wheel wells start...if youre still collecting maybe this would make sense:
F-18A F-18B F-18C F-18D Horn..ntake (GT Resin 48042, 1:48)
