"The tube": the Airspeed Horsa is indeed a design trimmed to the utmost practicality!

Hi Sebastian, yes, I am tempted by the subject. I plan to build a series of cargo gliders over the coming time. The DFS 230 and a "Waco" have already been purchased, I'm curious to see what will follow.

Some progress in the cockpit; there will be not much to be added. Except a little bit of wear and tear possibly.

A few steps further: the Airspeed Horsa, once assembled, shows itself to be quite an imposing model even in small scale.

Roland, you're hard to follow. You build at such a high speed that it looks like you do a model each week. But I can hardly believe that when I look at your outstanding quality each time. I guess you've either four hands, or a bunch of elfs working for you 😉 Great looking model, mate

Thank you Lode for your comment! Besides the trick with the helping elves, I am just very grateful that I have the opportunity to always have three or four models on keel at the same time.
I admire you ship modellers for your consistent perseverance, which leads to such great goals.

A few steps further: the invasion stripes are still being touched up a little, but in principle the Horsa is ready for the decals.

That front looks as streamlined as a washing machine, doesn't it?😉

With these pictures, the Airspeed Horsa says goodbye to my work - after having given me a lot of enjoyment. I have anchored all the antennas, rudder compensation, pitot tube, venturi tube and the like with pins and holes. I built the double pitot tube myself from scratched parts and wire.
The Airspeed Horsa from Italeri is a model that demands commitment and attention, but can still cut a good figure. Thank you for your interest and your comments!

Thank you Davis and Roland!
Yes, I will stick with the assault glider theme over a few models. DFS 230, Waco "Hadrian", Go 242- and Me-321 are already fixed, a model kit of the "Gigant" is on the way 🙂

I saw one of the last gliders 2 years ago in Normandy. You did a tremendous nice replica. Congrats, mate
