Tintin and the Picaros (ZIL 114)
I didn't take a picture of the diecast car "out of the box" but here's a few shots from the internet to give you some idea.
Disassembled. Man they put that paint on thick! It looks like it was just dipped in paint!
Luckily the paint was relatively easy to remove.
Repainted with Tamiya X-18 Semi-Gloss Black and X-11 Chrome Silver on the trim. The interior was painted XF-59 Desert Yellow.
Needs new wheels. Luckily my Opel Olympia kit comes with a spare set of tires! Thanks ACE!
Took a few tries to get the little San Theodoran flag correct. But it worked in the end.

Not really much of a project. Just cleaned off the extra thick paint (looked dipped!), painted the trim, added new wheels and made a little flag. But they all count, right? 😉

Hah! Thanks Daniel! I just snuck that little project in. I've been busy at work (comes with a promotion usually I think), but I'm hoping to get back to the bench soon. Your projects keep inspiring me.
