Junkers J.1 (Blechesel)
![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/8/5/2/1072852-27411-44-720.jpg)
The main pieces showed some mould misalignment, which needed filling with putty followed by sanding to shape
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/8/5/3/1072853-27411-57-720.jpg)
Same issue on the other side
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/8/5/4/1072854-27411-14-720.jpg)
Some dials added to the blank dashboard that comes with the kit - pure conjecture as I couldn't find any references
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/8/5/5/1072855-27411-35-720.jpg)
Unfortunately the side walls warped and I couldn't straighten them, and get them to stay straight
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/8/5/6/1072856-27411-70-720.jpg)
I ended up cutting them out and replacing them with some sheet styrene - much more stable!
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/5/0/9/1212509-27411-20-720.jpg)
Some structure detail added to the insides of the side walls
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/5/1/0/1212510-27411-26-720.jpg)
Interior painted and seats, control panel wheel and rudder pedals added, everything given a light wash and then the top deck added and the joints filled
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/7/6/8/1212768-27411-22-720.jpg)
Drilled 0.8mm holes in the fuselage, wings and tail parts to accept 0.8mm copper wire pins
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/7/6/7/1212767-27411-99-720.jpg)
Wings and horizontal tail surfaces glued in place
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/9/5/0/1212950-27411-14-720.jpg)
Tidied up the vertical tail and added a support rod so it doesn't have to be just glued to end of the fuselage
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/9/5/1/1212951-27411-82-720.jpg)
Tail just put in place at the moment without glue
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/9/5/2/1212952-27411-45-720.jpg)
One of the axles on the spreader bar was broken so I channelled my inner Bughunter and replace the whole axle with a 1mm brass tube
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/3/8/6/1213386-27411-42-720.jpg)
Added control horns (from Part) and glued undercarriage in place
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/4/1/0/1213410-27411-78-720.jpg)
Primer on - just a couple of pin holes needing a bit of filler
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/7/9/7/1213797-27411-91-720.jpg)
All painting done now and wheels, radiator, tail, engine and propeller in place
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/0/1/7/1215017-27411-58-720.jpg)
Started decaling - the kit only came with the black crosses so I cut some squares from a sheet of white decal
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/4/0/7/1218407-27411-67-720.jpg)
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/4/0/8/1218408-27411-41-720.jpg)
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/4/0/9/1218409-27411-40-720.jpg)
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/4/1/0/1218410-27411-83-720.jpg)

Thanks guys - finally got back onto this. Started back by finishing the interior (kept it quite basic)

So this one is finished, although I might go back some time and replace the nylon thread rigging with elastic thread - some of the control cables refused to straighten and after the final photos were taken I noticed (in the photos!) that one of the rudder cables had come loose... Otherwise quite happy with how it came out.

Nice little Junkers 👍
Oh, it seems that I have provided a tiny bit of inspiration here 😎
As far as I see there is not kit in 1:48 🙁

Thanks guys - much appreciated.
Bughunter - more than just a bit of inspiration, I seem to get something new from each of your builds.
