New start will be a Caproni 311M. Although an old tooling, the sprues look pretty good and quite free of flash. 🙂 First thing to do is the two bomb racks.

In the years I've been member of "Scalemates" I have seen so many airplanes that are new to me 😄
And there are some beauties among them. I like the version with the glass nose very much.
Succes building the kit 👍

After my experience with the side windows on the Ju 52, I decided to do things slightly differently on the 311.
I first of all sprayed the windows (after masking) internally and then took the internal and external masks off.
Next, I added Vallejo primer to the fuselage and then added Life Color Verde Oliva Scuro 2 on to the external fuselage. 🙂

By the way, I did find the Life Color paint very thick and even though I added double the amount of thinners and flow improver (Vallejo), the airbrush had difficulty even at higher pressure settings (and constantly dried and blocked up). Anyone else used Life Color acrylics? If so, what tips do you have?

Hi Guy, I usually use Lifecolors... They are perfect to be used with a brush but they need some attention to be used in an airbrush.
I usually add Lifecolors into their thinner, and NOT the opposite.
You start with some amount of thinner and then add drops of colour until you reach a good consistence.
They are not simple as other acrilics, but they worth the effort for the colours of the Regia ๐๐ป
Great work until now ๐๐ป

Wings have been put together and sprayed with primer. The first big test was moving the wheel well/engine mounting along the wing and then fixing. A bit of filler required.. 🙂

I used your (Moreno) tip to add thinner first and then the Life Color paint. A couple of minor blockages on the needle of the airbrush but no real issue. Grazie Mille Moreno. 👍

Transparencies are in on the side of the aircraft. (seem to be a bit opaque) Cockpit & bombload added to one side of the aircraft. 🙂
@Johan: for the age of the kit, it seems to go together surprisingly well. The engines/undercarriage being slid across the wings was a bit of an ask. 👍
Welcome and thank you for your comments Cuajete, Andy, Moreno, Dietmar and Carlo. 👍
Thank you very much for the likes Franck D, Al Berto, Rui DS, Johann VM & Djordje. 👍
