Well we'll start with the wings.. bugger me they are longer than I expected.. and warped to hell.
So Jigs to get them straight..

Watching. Apart from the jig, will you heat them with something, say a hairdrier?

Welcome guys.
David, I do small.... just finding myself drawn to the big birds recently

Uhhh, in 1:48 this is going to be big. I was staggered to find out how big mine in scale 1:72 is. Good luck with it.

Yeah. I was surprised at how wide the span was...
@Andrea, good idea, I forgot about that, so went with what was on hand 😄

This is simply impossible you have painted all that white, yellow and red areas with a brush, Augie... Look absolutely flawless. And your Catalina looks great already!

I see your bubble canopies open. Are they two part pieces or you cut them open? Apart from that your brushing results impress again and again.

![](/profiles/img/11503-886-s.jpg)
Thank you both
@ Michael, they are two piece sadly but with a little care they'll slip in ok.

Well I would have prefered to have mine (scale 1:72 PBY5A Revell/Academy) as a two piece part. Like this I had to cut one apart. Your kit seem to have the shape at the lower half correct too - unlike the Academy ones, which are incorrect.

I really believe you, Augie, I am just impressed with your painting skills... (and what kit will you get for birthday, tomorrow? 😉 )
