Can you use the clear window part to force it back into shape? I am guessing all the windows are just 1 piece

Yes your right all glass is one piece
To me it looks like a pillars on both sides ar bent in 2 ways
Roof is pushed down on one side
I will try your suggestion
See how I go
Thanks Andrew

Had a play with it Andrew looks like body is bent
I don't see it working out and I tried to heat it up whed a lighter to straighten it out a bit
Its more straight now but got new problems now
I think body is gone now
Probably best to use this model for a war scene

It was worth a try, I have had joy with a couple that are slightly bent but if the distortion is too great then it won't work.
Good luck with wrecking it

Thanks Andrew yes it was worth a try
You may have had more luck then me im just starting out modelling
I did know this kit had problems
So I decided to take it out today and have a look at it
Its a good learnt not to put much heat in to it today
I have seen many good builds
Were pepol do cool whethering
I think I will use this kit for practice on that
Thanks again

It could be tricky but how about cutting the damaged area and rebuilding it? The A pillar's could be scratch built.
A more radical idea, either find another roof off something else or make a Trans Am style T-Top or even a convertible.

Rod -
I straighten bent parts in hot water. A saucepan on the stove works best. Its tricky, to hot and they're ruined. I start with a piece of sprue from the kit and bring the heat up until its possible to gently bend the sprue. If you go to hot, it can go floppy or it will shrink. All manufacturers are a bit different, most styrene will begin to soften around 80deg C. Use a thermometer and be patient!

A good idea but as you can see in my communication so fare I tried to straighten it out
Gave it a bit of heat whed a lighter
And made a few new problems
Now a small part of the roof
And tha a pillars is gone to
Body is still fare from straight

I am not to bothered about it
Its part of a lot of 18 kits I bought
This one was basically free
I knew
All the time it had problems
All good now I got a bit in my spares box
Along whed my first build
The mustang
I will scrap the body
And the hood
Take it out of a new kit
And I will have a few bits in spares

Yes Rod as you can see its already done for
I have learnt 1 think not to do
Don't try to heat it whed I lighter
I did
In a few seconds
Part of roof just disappeared
In 2 places
But now after I ruined it
And told you all
I'm getting plenty ideas
So not all is wasted learnt a few things in the process
This body was pretty bad
I think it would have ben a challenge even for an experienced
Builder
That is why I dident mind trying

All said and done im a beginner
So lots still to learn
I have keept the body
Put the kit for now
On another shelf
Were it sits alone for now
For spares or to fix later
