Made a start with spraying areas to be painted with primer and then adding IJN Aotake translucent green (Vallejo Model Air). 🙂
Thanks for the like Guillaume, hope you enjoy the build. 👍

The cockpit is very basic but is now complete. Nose is now together (although I'm leaving the prop off for the time being). Underside window is in. All ready now to put the fuselage together. 🙂

Fuselage, wings and tail plane all now put together. Minimal filling required except for the vertical tail plane which required quite a lot as the fit was quite poor. 🙂

Applied IJN Chrome Yellow for the forward aspects of the wings. Added Aluminium to parts of the top of the fuselage ready for chipping medium to be applied on top. 🙂
Thanks for the like Franck. 👍

Next step was to varnish the aircraft with Vallejo Matt Varnish. Undercarriage, wing mounted fuel tanks and wing mounted bombs added. I then did some minor weathering on the underside using umber and black washes. 🙂
Thanks for the kind comment Marko. 👍

Canopy, rigging and last bits and pieces added plus a little chipping effect as it's a late war aircraft.
The aircraft denoted is from 601 Kokutai based in japan in Mar 1945. The D4Y3 was a dive bomber.
I declare this one completed. 🙂
Thanks Lukasz and Daniel for your likes and Gary for your kind comment. 👍

I think you've made great work, it's not easy to start with such an old kit.
Just curious the decals still work?

Many thanks for your very kind comments Chan Li and WhiteGlint. 👍
@Chan Li: surprisingly, the decals were from the original box and went on quite well. They are a little thick by today's standards but didn't tear! 🙂
