I am starting a joint contribution here on two Hawker Typhoons; one will be a classic RAF aircraft, the other had to change sides; it shows a prey Typhoon flown at the "Circus Rosarius".
First pictures of the cockpits reveal that there is a lot of "Eduard" in the game - this concerns especially the radiators in the nose, which are mostly rebuilt from etched parts.

A few more pictures document how quickly a build can be done with excellent and quality parts like these from Hasegawa. I am also quite happy to have done the carving with the radiators and the etched parts.

The two Typhoons were fitted with aftermarket metal/brass gun fairings. In the end, a certain amount of work was required: drilling out the cut-off tube stubs, fitting and cleaning the new cannons and above all: quick and correct alignment of the tubes along all axes and lengthwise, because all this must be done freehand and with a sense of proportion while the glue is setting.

The Rosarius Typhoon - here the entire underside - and the Typhoon of the 198th Squadron have received their share of yellow. I also used this to liven up the preshading a bit.

The Typhoon is also (finally) getting some new work done: the invasion stripes and the tail band have been painted, now they will be masked off and "Medium Sea Gray" will be applied.

The masks are down - now the Typhoon is ready to get the decals applied. For the rocket armament the excellent Brassin set from Eduard is used. This is a bit complex, but should be a decided improvement on the somewhat tired representations from the Hasegawa kit.
The front cockpit section consists of a deep-drawn replacement of "Squadron".

Slowly, the Typhoon turns into the home stretch! The Eduard Brassin rockets are a lot of work, but the sight of them once completed is really rewarding.

Finally completed! I am now pleased to present this Typhoon -double with these pictures with these pictures.
Tamiya's now already venerable kit does quite well with a few additions and detailing, but is still great fun.
I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed these two Typhoons!
