Those decals sinking in the details are perfect! Did you use any decal setting solutions?
While it might seem to be an irrelevant detail, those honeycomb "NO STEP" warnings were indeed red for the Navy. Nice to see a well researched decal sheet. Many other decal sheets are giving these signs in yellow or black.

What products are you using for the gloss and later for thr matt varnis?

I use DACO medium and strong on the Furball stencil set. It's not fit to size for Tamiya despite their statement. Also lacking proper instructions and missing some stencils.
After some daco I cut the decals with a sharp blade over panel lines and use a pin to enhance rivets.
Despite being applied on glossy surface there is still a lot of silvering.

Gloss is Future. Matt will be Alclad2.

I also use Future as gloss, but sometimes it turns permanently milky (without any other repair options) when I'm using strong decal setting solutions.
Have you had a positive experience with thr Alclad Matt varnish?

Sid de Koning
Yes I like the Alclad2 finishes a lot actually. Different grades of matt. I'll be using those as well to further enhance the metal shades.
So far so good I believe. There was a temporary change of color on the left leading edge. Won't a new Future layer help?

Looks great already, and no silvering on the pictures as far as I can see 👍
Looking forward to the rest of the build!

A perfect Phantom and well researched. Did you use now the Eduard exhausts? And full marks for the airbrushed markings 👍.
What goodies would you recommend?

I would definitely advise eduard exhausts, mirrors, hypersonic nose pod and Quickboost fuel dump, Quinta is amazing.
And maybe not as much the Eduard ladder, fin cap (a little too wide on the front) and the seats.
Definitely not the Flying Leathernecks AERO-3B launchers, mine were so badly warped and I couldn't get them straightened out by boiling water. The Furball stencils are better sized for Academy and not entirely correct, misplaced or complete. But it does give that stenciled look. Both speedbrakes and tail hook take some time to get rid off the 3D print Marks.
And the Dead Design masks didn't fit mine.

Thanks for the positive comments!

That's a beauty Sid! Congratulations. Do you know what the ordnance load out on this mission (12 Mk.82's) or give it your best estimate? Makes me want to do this version myself.

Thanks Paul. I would like to think my model displays may be the best guessed load-out for that mission in the hands of VF-84.

Hello, Sid.
Amazing job with little tweaks to represent early blocks. I have a question about early blocks stabilizers without strengthening plates(pic 18). So far I haven't seen them mentioned on anything other than super early F-4H and I could not find any good resolution photo with F-4B stabilizer without reinforced plating. On VF-84 F-4B you can definetely see them absent, but I've seen some photos with plating being painted white and basically it resembles a straight line from some distanse. Can you help with finding source materials/photos for early "B" stabilizers and production blocks they were used on, please? I have intention to build some pre-block-26 F-4B too.
