Very nice work. My hat off to you for that fine work on the photoetch.
Agree, @Erik, if it wasn't for the PE, there is really nothing that would help the basic kit. The basic kit was hapless in its original form.
Thanks, @Neuling. the basic kit, tho hapless, is a gem in the rough.
Beautiful finish on this one 👍 Really looks like it has been at sea for a good ammount of time. The small PE details do definetly pay off here, too!
I spent a summer on Bunker Hill as Midshipman (Navy version of cadet) and have many happy memories of her. You captured her beautifully - this is a masterpiece. You should definitely enter this in a competition!
Really nice work, great paint job and weathering. As mentioned before, a Masterpiece
Thank you @Andy and thanks @Music_On for sharing your personal experience here. It means a lot!

THis is an old kit with lots and lots of fitting problems and poor surface details. The kit has been in the market for over two decades and I think is a popular subject for many ship models builders. of course not super-popular like building a USS Missouri or USS Enterprise. But still many people have built it throught the years. The kit in the box represent the USS Bunker Hill around the 1990s time periode. But I painted my model as if it was later her later stage in the 2010s.
The PE set from WEM only enhance the model with extra fine detailing but in a general way. So if you are looking to detail-up the USS Bunker Hill for a certain time period beyond the 1990s and want to have specific features to this ship, then you wont get that from the PE set.
