Just finished my Moebius 1:43 Interstellar Ranger... What you said? the box says 1:72 scale! Not so fast...
Moebius provides a 1:144 nose cone with two Interstellar Rangers in the launch configuration, for those of you who also want to build up a Saturn 5 launch vehicle. Now the two I.R.'s are 80mm in length, meaning that the 1:72 version s/b 160 mm.
However, the built model measures 270 mm! Some simple math (1/72 / 270 x 160) reveals the ACTUAL scale to be 1:42.666 or ~1:43. I trsut the scale of the two smaller I.R.'s to be correct becuase the nose cone is a perfect fit for my 1:144 Saturn 5. 😮 I always thought the model looked to big to be in 1:72 scale!

That design makes it look like something you would want to step on. Very bug like.
