And? How is the handling of the kit, so far? Look´s very promising to me!

The fitting of the two boom halves is amazing. The wing to fuselage seems more tricky, I will find out in time. The kit does have some out-of-scale features though, like the engine cowl hinges and the fuselage handrails...and of course the out of scale greenhouse framing !

Do you have an idea how to solve the scaleproblems with the framing? I heard about some vacu-parts but i dont remember who told me from that... Wasnt it you?🙂

Yes, the canopy framing is the most difficult problem to solve. I have the vacuum canopy from MPM kit which had the correct framing but otherwise is not so clear 🙁 I hope to find a way around it.

Maybe its getting clearer when you drown it in future?

I will have to try all possibilities😉 I think I have a total of 4 spare canopies from MPM (!!!)

So you can do "try and error 3 times...🙂"

The other possibility is to construct the framing without any glass, and make a relic... but this is even more difficult 🙂

That will become a very hard work, indeed!!!😉

After a long time, I have restarted this project. An important thing missing from this kit is the engine exhaust collector pipe. This pipe also takes ram air from the two small intakes on the lower part of the engine nacelle. All that GWH provides in the line of exhaust, is the bit that hangs out of the nacelle side! The pipe should have been provided since it is quite visible from the front, as well as the side of the engine with open cowl doors. Other missing items are those on the firewall, which are also quite visible when the cowl doors are open.

I am working on it...albeit very slowly among other projects...
Please bear with me, I promise progress photos once I have it wrapped up😉

After a very long and frustrating battle with the many issues of this kit, I thought I was making progress, until the BIGGEST nightmare hit me in the face: The outer wing dihedral was totally wrong!!! I thought to myself: well, we can fix it right ? The more I tried, the more impossible it became, due to the poor assembly of the outer wings. After all the hassle with the out-of-scale details of this kit, the unrealistic wing dihedral was all I needed...
Unfortunately that did it for me: all the work and effort came to nothing. I thought it best to ditch the entire project and bin it. Enough is enough. So sorry, this is the 3rd Fw189 I discard...

Yes Aghis good to see you around again, I've been wanting to do a Fw-189 but the look of her always made me think twice, now I'm glad I never did.
