Last summer I wanted to build something global and I chose the perfect time killer. Attempts to find a box from Academy in traditional stores were unsuccessful. The box is very ancient and it seems that its production stopped in 2012. As a result, I found an option through a private ad. In general, it is strange, an interesting and charismatic machine, and there is still no decent option on the market on a 48 scale. I suspect that such an injustice will be eliminated in the near future. I hope.
In parallel with this, I started searching for all sorts of interesting additions with which there were no problems. As a result, I bought resin sets of the rotor, steering screws and a detailed mechanism for folding the tail boom from ResKit. And of course the BIGED set without which, this box doesn't make much sense. With the package from the Czech Republic came a set for the interior, exterior and cargo compartment. And an important addition is the masks for the cockpit.
The box itself seemed a little rough to me, not firewood, of course, the connectivity is generally good, but in general everything is quite thick, rough, obviously not on a scale, I had to finish a lot, drill and refine. A large number of stages of work and iterations, I managed to get tired of such saturation. There were problems when I closed half of the case, but here it is expected, such large parts are rarely perfect, without deformation.
Painted traditionally with acrylics from Tamiya. Anti Slip coatings decided to inflate with paint, scuffs are salt. I smeared it with a wash of different shades of gray and pastel crayons. There were concerns about decals: after all, the box had been lying idle for a very long time. But there were no problems with them, they were perfectly welded on the Mark Fit from the same Tamiya.
