Based on ICM model with some detalization kits. Airbrushed (except front bumper), Tamiya paints.
The main improvement is the addition of LEDs to all lighting devices, even turn signals. They powered by two rechargeable AAA batteries.
The battery pack placed in the water tank. To replace the batteries, I cut out side doors and attached them to magnets. The wires are laid under the cab, hidden behind the chassis parts.
The hood is also attached to the magnets so that you can remove it and examine the engine. I added imitation wires and a couple of pipelines to the engine, nothing significant.
I rate the result at 2/5, because I made a lot of mistakes during assembly.
The main one is terrible paint. Some parts (eg tubes for fire hoses) are not covered with enough layers of red paint. I used black primer and they turned out darker. I also spoiled part of the cockpit glazing and noticed that only when I took off paint masks from the outside. Alas, this can't be fixed.
The assembly was very difficult. Largely because the set itself isn't very well made. The fit of injection molds is poor, so many parts had to be seriously processed.
In addition, I decided to assemble the set block by block, and not following the instructions. Because of this, the final docking of the blocks became an unpleasant test for me.
A lot of time was spent working with photo-etching. This is my first kit with so much photo-etching, so I screwed up everywhere I could. Some parts didn't stick to each other several times. I removed and reapplied the superglue over and over again, causing the parts to deteriorate a bit. I didn't use the correct photoetch primer, so the paint came off in a few places and had to be touched up with a brush.
In the end, I'm more or less satisfied with the result, but only because of the experience I got during the assembly.
