Ah...well, I'm one of those sentimental ones, lost in an idealized past. For me, it's pretty much the late 1940s, early 1950s. The Constellation is a classic, and, from what I understand, in it's military form, kind of a classy craft to fly; a perk, as it were. There were lots more Dakotas and Skymasters hauling cargo in to Berlin during the Airlift, but Connie got more than her share of limelight because she's so easy on the eyes.

Any way...It's going together quite nicely. I can see that the fuselage join will be a challenge...It's bigger than anything I've ever built. I'm thinking about liquid masking the windows and tape and papering the 'aluminum bits' and go for a rattle can of chrome silver for the body/wings.....yeah.

There is a great film about the berlin airlift. It´s called "bridges". The story is about an american pilot shot down over Berlin in WWII. After the war he is a pilot of the airlift. The trailer:
