This one is going to take me a while (years).
Finally getting back to this. Need to repair some damage, drill out the remains of the kit's rudder and propeller - just happen to have metal and resin parts for them. Replace the plastic beam braces, sand off the molded scuttles, and make the hull as accurate as possible by getting rid of the plastic keel and thinning down the stem a bit. That's just to get started again.

woow, someone is testing the limits of scalemates 🙂 I'm happy that I didn't add a restriction on the amount of aftermarket sets used 🙂

Tim, That took me a while to put in there. The good news is that if anyone is crazy (or stupid) enough to want to build this one (duh) the kits are broken down so that you don't have to fork over your life savings all at once. You can do it in installments. 🙂. www.djparkins.com is the home page to several lines of photo etch and resin kits, including Flightpath. The url to the duelatsea, also has a link to Joseph Nuemeyer's home page. He has some amazing models. I want to be able to do that when I grow up! (If that ever happens!😢

If you go with the full set, about the only thing you use from the kit is the hull.

The weathering and detail is so realistic! I study this quite a bit. He also has a whole gallery of amazing work. An check out his work on the movies as well, including the 60 ft back end of the Titanic used in the movie for the sinking sequence.
