Hello there! I'm David (IDreamInStyrene) I'm a novice modeller from Scotland, 26, building mostly Airfix, Tamiya, Revell and Bandai aircraft, spacecraft, vehicles & figures. I've only just started out in the hobby so excuse the various rough edges!
If you're interested, there are a few short pieces of info below that help to explain my modelling style:
1. No Axis Powers: as a rule, I build war models from the allied side(s) and do not seek out or buy any Axis kits. The only exceptions are my 1:72 scale Airifix Messerschmitt Gift Set which was bought out of necessity as it was the *only* paints-included kit my local modelling shop had at the time, and my Airfix 1:72 scale Tiger I Tank which I was given as a present
2. 'Clean Builds': At this stage, I don't weather any of my 'real world' models beyond panel-lining as I prefer them to be "factory-fresh" accurate examples
3. Dyspraxia: I suffer from dyspraxia, a developmental coordination disorder that causes my hand-to-eye coordination and fine motor skills to be adversely affected. This is actually the reason I got into scale modelling as it is helping me to train my hands etc to be steadier, gentler and more accurate
4. Missing Parts: As I'm a novice (and dyspraxic!), a couple of my builds have suffered from missing or broken parts. All of them are minor, however, and where possible I will tag them with the details
5. Aesthetic Choice: As a modeller, I'm very unusual in that I don't have any aviation, military or engineering interests/experience. Because of this, my builds are motivated purely by my like or dislike of how the kit's subject looks. Apologies in advance to any diehards or purists!
6. Politics: I won't dwell on this point because the hobby itself is all about fun! Suffice to say that none of my builds reflect particular allegiance to or endorsement of any country, military or political system past or present- whatsoever
