Hasegawa's Jake kit with catapult, a moldy oldie, but still lots of fun to work over. Spent time assembling the subassemblies before painting the exterior. After dipping the clear parts in Future Floor Finish I started working on painting the exterior. With the initial paint work done I will let it dry then gloss coat it before applying the decals for this first version.

I have the catapult completed with the plane dolly attached to it and the line routed through the pulleys and secured to the interior tray and dolly with knots and Duco Cement. Once I get the plane assembled I will deal with the color and finish on the catapult. As most things in the IJN Fleet wore many colors from fresh to faded as well as rusted here and there with use out and about on the Pacific and beyond, it is always fun to come up with a suitable paint job.
Now I get to start working on the "Jake" itself.
