As far as I knew they were all turbo charged V6's. 12 sec cars.

Tim, yeah those Grand Nationals & the last edition GN-X were properly fast from the factory & just basic mods got them deep in to the 12's

Hey Bob, that looks really smart. This has to be one of the most underrated 80's muscle cars. I'm going have to find the one lurking in my stash.
Were the FBI versions stock or modified ?

They were visually the same, just didn't have the speed regulator in it, so it was allowed to go faster than 125 MPH and had a special speedometer that read 145 MPH instead of the civilian dash that was only to 85 MPH, and it had a stiffer suspension.
