The Swedish Air Force had a total of 165 P-51's, purchased second hand from the United States after WW 2. In the SWAF the Mustangs were called J 26 (J is short for Jakt, the Swedish word for "hunting", in this case meaning "fighter").
Most of the Mustangs had a natural metal finish, but a few had been painted in the ordinary Swedish camouflage colors: olive green top and blue-gray underside. The paintwork quickly faded and became heavily weathered, something the pilots found attractive, showing experience.
One of these camo'ed versions was Blå Niklas (referring to the color of the letter "N" on the tailfin). This is the version I intend to build as I think it looks quite different and interesting.
