I did some weathering with chalks and then locked it in with flat coat. It doesn't show up that well after the flat.

The Blue Max kit contains white metal and plastic parts. The critical joint is the top wing where the two plastic wings join the white metal center section. I've drilled pilot holes for brass rod in every place possible to prevent the CA glue from snapping.
