TreehuggerI am glad I got this kit, not much bigger than a destroyer I guess, however I have a new idea for custom railings that I will try out with this kit, replacing the photo etch with styrene rods and basic thin thread, and so if it works ok, it solves a problem I had with some other much larger kit my work stalled on, having made things too difficult for myself.

Steven Van DyckIn 1/700 no styrene rods scale up for stanchions. I do have some models where I cut insect screening meshes to railing.

TreehuggerBtw, one new feature of this ship kit, seems to be molded ribs under the two big deck pieces, which is nice as it helps prevent the deck from bending/twisting. I don't think I've seen that in other kits anytime before until now.

Christian BruerPlatz / Eduard A-4 Skyhawk in an in flight display. The Scooter looks quite nice on the ground but really cool in flight. I am a bit curious how it will come out in the end.

Christian BruerThx Spanjaard 🙂 It looks quite nice when in place, but I have one point with the acrylic rod I will use and the hole in the background to hold it. I thought about to place some cotton around it, but I am not sure. But let's see, time and test will tell.

Christian Bruer@Michael, ok got it. The black wooden base was made by Roland Dörrich Diosockel. I can highly recommend Rolands work.
The background is a photo printed on a 4mm frame done by a online printshop.
