Looking good, love the chipping. Specialized chipping fluid or hairspray? (I'm "frugal" and use the $1.99 bottle of hairspray, lol).

Cheers. I normally use hairspray but using some chipping fluid that css as me with a rusting effects set for this.
I think hairspray is quicker and easier but maybe doesn't chip quite do well.
I'd be happy using either.

It's all good. I have found that applying the hair spray with a brush is making chipping a little easier for me.
Is that rusting set the one from vallejo? I've been eyeing it at the local big box craft store and wondering if it's worth the money.

It is the Vallejo set.
It's a good set. I used the full set on my T-55A images here

Wow! I have this kit and haven't touched it because it's rather intimidating. You've done an amazing job with it.

thank you Skyhiker, kit has some fit issues but I didn't bother, just wanted to see it done, kit is just out of the box, except for the decals, original ones were unusable

Is that a dry brush technique on the raised panel lines? The results are very good. I was trying to figure out how to manage them. They are out of scale and I was considering re-scribing, or buying decals. But I think that would not make the results any better than what you have achieved. Sometimes easier is better. What paints did you use?

I like more the process of panting and weathering than building. so I try not to over complicate my builds, most of them are just out of the box kits. This is an old kit with few details, some fit issues and inaccuracies, there're really good aftermarket pieces to make it more accurate, but that would take me longer time to finish, and I have other projects that I want to see finished. About the paints I used MRP primer (MRP-APB), Tamiya Insignia White (LP-35) + Tamiya Lacquer Thinner (L-10) as base color, for the white patches Ammo Matt White (MIG-050), and all black areas are Tamiya NATO Black (XF-69), all acrylics thinned with Modellers World Acrylic Doctor Thinner. Everything was covered with VMS Matt Varnish HD. All weathering was done with Oil Wash: Aircraft brownish grey from Modellers World and Oil Wash: For white & winter camouflage also from Modellers World, this two colors were applied as panel line Wash, the cleaning, blending and blurring "washes" was done with OILS thinner & cleaner from Modellers World. No dry brushing, paints, enamels or other techniques were used.

Very impressive model. Very good elaboration of the tiles and realistic weathering. Very nice.
