As my current project I have started the model of the Beaufort Mk.I from ICM. The interior was completed with etched parts from eduard and the correction parts for the cowlings, which are wrong in shape on the model, and the oil coolers in the leading edges of the wings are from Aerocraft Models.

Basically the kit of the Beaufort is very good, but it still has a few mistakes, which can be corrected quite well. For example, the landing gear bays are simplified, but this can be compensated for with the corresponding etched parts set from eduard. The shape of the engine cowlings are completely wrong for the Mk.I version. To change this I used the corrected cowlings from Aerocraft models. If you compare archive photos you will notice the too small propeller spinners of the kit, which I exchanged for better fitting spinners from my spare parts box. At the moment I am riveting the wings and the fuselage. Since I couldn't find a corresponding plan with the rows of rivets, I'm doing this on the basis of photos of the original.

The Beaufort was finished today. ICM offers a generally good, but not entirely flawless kit. I used the Aerocraft correction set for the incorrectly shaped motor cowlings and the too small propeller spinners were replaced by more suitable alternatives from my spare parts box. The model was painted with AK Real Colors and Tamiya.

Beautiful Beaufort! How did you accomplish the chipping? The wing root chipped areas look particularly good. The rest does too, those areas just stand out. Nice!

Thank you very much John 👍 I always apply the chipping with a brush, for me it's the best way to control the application. For the silver colour I tried something new here and used silver pigment powder for printers with clear varnish as a binder. A little burnt umber oil paint was also added to the silver to break up its sheen.
