I have a modelling friend in India so I know how rare the hobby is there and how difficult it is to get the kits, paints and materials the rest of us take for granted. Well done Srikanth for coping with a situation which would make many of us give up. 👍

I changed from Humbrol enamel paints to acrylic, and it was the best decision. I recommend diluting them slightly with water, so they are like ink and not thick cream, and using several thin coats. My favourite brushes are flat ones ( about 1cm wide) for large areas, and only use small round ones for fine details. I'm guessing the canopy went cloudy because of Super Glue? A PVA type of water-based glue works well. Your decals went on perfectly, and really add to your finished model 👍

Thank you so much Bruce for the feedback and suggestions.
I used couple of paint brushes which my nephew had left at our home
Y. I have to source super thin glue from outside India, found the base coat primer paint at a hardware store. You are right about the canopy this was the classic scenario of amateur error
Need to spend some money and source the right tools.
Wanted to give the model a worn out look

Welcome Srikanth. You will find that the internet is your friend 🙄 You Tube holds many Vloggers (is that relevant now? 🤨) I.e Quick Kits, Plasmo, Flory, Champion, Niges modelling, Nightshift and Yorkshiremans modelling will give you tutorials and tips regarding modelling. Also Amazon and e-bay, or local equivalent net, you can source materials I. e. Brushes, paints, tools, thinners, glue and kits depending what's in your back pocket (the WIFE will not know about Tamiya Thin Glue, Tamiya paint, X20 thinners. . . . . . . . . Also the Profipac and extras) and don't take this the wrong way, but. Read the the instructions especially regarding decals. The tail plane decal is the wrong way round, it should be red leading, white then blue. This is no criticism on your part. It's all a learning curve and I'm still learning. . . . . . . . . . . Effing everything!

Internet is indeed turning out to be my friend Mark!
Thanks for pointing out the mistake, I did realise only after you pointed it out. It's a steep learning curve & I am starting this hobby 10-12 years late!
No wife problems here😬 coz I don't have one! followed & subscribed to quite a few YouTube channels as well.
Looking forward to improve incrementally in subsequent builds.

Lucky man 36 years and counting. I returned to the hobby in 2017 in earnest in 2019 and I'm still learning. I only started airbrushing last year, so on a learning curve with I e. Pre shading, post shading 😲😳🤔😱 Again mate, welcome to the hobby and the main thing about this hobby is enjoy what you are building and if you like it, that is all that matters. 👍🥸👍

Album info

Built my first Airfix model: Hawker Hurricane MK1
Model kit building in India is very expensive and it is hard to get airbrush paints and cement glue
Had to manage with basic acrylic paint and whatever glue was available
