You really did great colour modulation. The stowage and the detail painting are fanciful too.

Bronco Models 1/35 Scale. Sturgeschutz III E. Stug.Abt .Grossdeutschland, East of Voronezh
July 1942. All done. After 2 years on the shelf of despair, in the end it hasn't taken me nearly as long as I thought to get a result.
One complication with this build was having to build in two parts, top and bottom. I had to complete the whole chassis including weathering the tracks and running gear before commencing on the superstructure, as I knew I wouldn't be able to effectively get into all the nooks and crannies down there once it was all together. Also, knowing i was building a vehicle at the height of a Russian summer, i knew i couldn't just cover it with mud and hope for the best.
Once that was done though, completing the topside went pretty quickly. Paint was the German grey modulation set from AK interactive over a base of German camouflage black brown which I'd allowed to dry for a day. Once the grey was dry for about an hour I used a damp brush and sponges to remove small chips of the grey, exposing the dark rusty brown underneath. I find chipping fluid an unnecessary step if you wait for the base coat to dry properly.
Subsequent weathering consisted of a sepia pin wash from Abtielung 502 oils, a dusty wash after another day of drying, also with Abtielung 502 oils, this time buff, then a general dusting with art store pastels of various dusty colours. I allowed this to collect in corners etc before removing most of it with a finger and make up sponges. I added a load with some left over Legend resin stowage I had covering it with a tissue tarp when I couldn't get it to seat in properly.
Anyway, it turned out well enough for me to buy some figures for it to add to a small scene, so I guess I can 'fess up and say I'm happy with the result.
As always thoughts and comments are most welcome, best regards and happy modelling!
