Mig-29A Fulcrum Polish Air Force - Italeri 1:72
Used filler, waited for it to dry up and then sanded down until the surface became smooth.
Used model filler and sanded down really smooth the engine intakes.
Ready for primer !
Went to a stronger preshading, I think this will look much better on the camouflaged Mig-29 A
Used Humbrol 145 Enamel paint through the airbrush initially.
"Huston, we have a problem!". The darker gray chosen (Humbrol 145) is beautiful, but not so dark. Need to add a darker layer on top.
Current stash as of 20240420
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" 😄 combined the Humbrol 145 with the Humbrol black 33, both matt, and got the gray I was looking for
Italeri light gray on the belly as suggested by the model schematic.
gloss varnish applied
it's a Fulcrum 🙂
Italeri brothers: Mig-29A and Rafale-M in 1:72 scale
Engines on ☄️
I redid the camouflage as I was not very happy with the previous photo and also some paint with primer fell from the underbelly. It’s all fixed now, but I will switch to a “Mr. Surfacer” primer instead of the Mig Ammo gray primer to see how it goes next time.
First decals applied
Weathering is very important to bring a model to life
Before weathering the underbelly
During the weathering the underbelly
My Mig-29 is ready for final varnish coat! ❤️

Whoopee, a MiG-29! I know I am late to the party but I got to follow this!

thank you very much DetMattes! I like the color I've managed to obtain on the top exterior, was a bit concerned after I've applied the "similar" recommended one in my stash and there wasn't much contrast.
On this kit there are 2 versions of the Mig-29A, the one I'm building for the Polish Air Force (although I think they have been all transferred to Ukraine) and a very interesting one from the Russian Air Force with a Dark Blue instead of the dark gray on the polish version.
I'm thinking about maybe getting another identic kit and building the Russian version as well. As general advice for this kit is the take your time in sanding the nozzle, back of the cockpit and engine intakes as the fit is pretty poor. Rest I think went pretty smooth so far. 🙂
